Scandi style Yorkshire bakery uses windfall prize to expand its range

When the innovative North Yorkshire-based Bakeri Baltzersen learned that they had won £350 of Invicta products in our most recent customer survey prize draw, they decided to try out some new bread tins that would add to their already extensive list of products.
Baltzersen’s relationship with Invicta goes back four years when its owners Paul and Katie Rawlinson enlisted the company’s help to kit out their new bakery located at Kettlesing Head, a few miles from the picturesque spa town of Harrogate.
The bakery opened its doors in March 2020 just as the UK entered its first lockdown. Seizing the opportunity that this presented, the new business began baking for home deliveries. It went from strength to strength and since then has opened shops in Harrogate and Wetherby, as well as supplying over 100 wholesale partners across Yorkshire.
“Invicta helped us with equipment to get the bakery open, including trays, trolleys, plastics and more, and we've never had any issues with anything. The kit we had from the start is still in good condition and being used daily,” said Paul.
“The company are very knowledgeable and open to working with bakeries to develop new products, as well as supplying the standard options. They have subject matter experts on coatings and give a lot of guidance in the design phase. We'd wholeheartedly recommend Invicta and continue to use them on a regular basis,” he added.
Bakeri Baltzersen is renowned for its exciting range of long-fermented sourdough loaves, rye, ciabatta and more traditional yeasted white and granary style loaves/rolls. They also offer a full range of vienoisserie products such as croissant, pain au chocolat and the hybrid cruffin - a cross between a croissant and a muffin.
When presented with the prize money, the bakery decided to order multiple sets of 3-strap bread tins because this was a product area that they hadn’t yet developed.
“We think it will be a very useful extension of our range,” said Jacob Vezey, Head Baker at Bakeri Baltzersen (pictured). “Our wholesale partners are looking for options that allow them to minimise waste – for instance, the small ends of bloomer shaped products – and retail customers still love a traditional loaf shape. We are really looking forward to adding these tins to our stock of equipment. Invicta tins are always very reliable and good to use and I am sure that these will be no exception.”
The most recent Invicta customer survey showed that 94% said they would be ‘extremely likely’ or ‘very likely’ to buy Invicta products again.
